Program Outline:

  • Each participant will work approximately 30 hours per week for a period of 17 weeks.
  • Week day work hours are from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm with a half-hour lunch.
  • Participants will be involved in a variety of different job activities in the community, including curbside recycling.
  • Our goal is to help develop practical life management and personal development skills.
  • Specific training and certificates (CPR/First Aid, WHMIS, etc.) are included in our program to help give each individual the necessary tools to continue on in the workforce or further education.
  • If necessary, participants can be picked up and dropped off for work.
  • Participants will be expected to adhere to program guidelines and rules.

Participant Selection

All applicants will be chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Unemployed and not currently attending school;
  • Potential participants will fill out an application and have an informal interview with PHEP staff to determine appropriate intervention;
  • Participants will be chosen based on level of need and willingness to participate in program.
